Baseball Meeting          Who doesn't like baseball?          Color Guard

It was another fabulous turnout  . . . the MOAA of CV program was perfectly coordinated with OPENING DAY OF BASEBALL which takes place a week later on March 25th!

Meeting and FlagOur members and guests were treated to the captivating history of Baseball and the many Baseball players of that era!  This amazing presentation was delivered by a renowned Guest Speaker, Todd Anton, Author (of several books), Educator, and Trustee of the National WWII Museum in New Orleans!

Meeting MembersOur Student Speaker, Ashlyn Schwartz, a lovely and talented Senior at La Quinta High School, member of ROTC, and an award winning Chef shared her story of becoming interested in foods, her love of cooking, acquired talents, culinary expertise, and good fortune leading to an amazing training job working with the Master Chefs at the Ritz Carlton!

Whether it be Baseball or Cooking . . . both talents require perseverance and loving what you do.  That recipe of inspiration with perspiration, definitely enhances one's chance for success.

So . . .  getting back to Baseball and Cooking . . . these professions are not just fun and games.  The participants share an interest that was at some point inspired and pursued . . . the reason for the success:  not only the keen interest and enjoyment and talent, but of great importance is the perseverance.  Yes, and their fans definitely have a lot in common:  Baseball fans and Diners look forward to an enjoyable time and a connection.

How could you not fall a little in love with a delicious dinner or an exciting Baseball Game?  There’s something undeniably special about the way these two events bring people together . . . whether it be one pitch at a time, or one meal at a time.

So maybe the real question isn’t “Who doesn’t like baseball?”  — it’s how could you not fall a little in love with it?
